PCSX2 0.9.5 as earlier as svn 351 has Patch Browser menu to let users to insert Gameshark Codes directly into PCSX2 mid-game. But some codes crash the game when inputted mid-game.

This mini tutorial will explain how to input Gameshark codes to PCSX2 game patch files ( *.pnach files in patches folders) since the codes inserted in pnach file starts as games start hopefully it will not crash. I can’t guarantee that your codes will work or anything, this tutorial will only tell you how to insert Gameshark codes in patch files.

Ok, here we go.

1. first we must convert the Gameshark codes to PCSX2 codes format. How? We can use Maxconvert or use PCSX2 internal code converter. Like this  : That’s two values we’re looking for Address and Value,
2. Now create a file with notepad that look like this, repeat as many codes you need.
   
   patch=1,EE,address,word,value
   in this case, that would be :
   
   patch=1,EE,00373F26,word,00000001
3. save file as [game ID].pnach. How to know your game ID? Start the pcsx2 as usual with your game. Look the console window for CRC numbers. CRC is your Game ID. In this example it would be a8d83239.pnach and save it in PCSX2’s /patches folder.
   
   
4. There you go.
